Sopharma Trading optimises processes with GK

Sopharma Trading has opted for GK’s POS platform for its brick-and-mortar stores and online pharmacies. The company, which is one of the largest healthcare providers in Bulgaria, is using the new solution to close data gaps between its stores and its SAP merchandise management system. Local, healthcare-specific solutions from third-party providers can be integrated quickly and smoothly via the feature App Enablement, a plug-in interface of the GK solution for seamless integration of web applications.

Sopharma Trading previously used a POS solution for its more than 210 bricks-and-mortar pharmacies and the online shop, which ran unstably and was far too slow and inflexible for the complex POS processes of its rapidly growing pharmacy network. This had a negative impact on the healthcare company’s overall performance.

The roll-out of the GK solution enabled Sopharma Trading to systematically close data gaps between Sopharmacy stores and its SAP system. The centrally operated IT landscape ensures that merchandise management processes run smoothly and increases the level of automation in the pharmacies. Sopharma Trading also uses the GK solution to manage and operate all peripheral devices in its stores as well as the content of the digital touchpoints. Fit for the challenging healthcare market

“Before starting the project, we looked at many technology vendors during the initial screening phase,” explains Iliyan Tishevishki, Technology Support Manager, Sopharma Trading. ”None of them could fulfil our specific requirements, tailored to the challenging healthcare market, as effectively as GK.”

Local, healthcare-specific solutions from third-party providers can be integrated quickly and smoothly via App Enablement, the plug-in interface for easy integration of web applications into the GK platform – without having to run new release or product updates of the productive systems. The future-proof design of GK’s POS platform helps Sopharma Trading to meet the challenging requirements of government regulatory bodies and local tax authorities.

Sopharma Trading speeds up integration process

Using standardised mapping – made possible by the rapid deployment integration ‘GK Model Company’ – the POS platform could be integrated into the healthcare specialist’s SAP architecture exceptionally fast. A key success factor during the implementation was the partnership with local partners IBM and ScaleFocus, which complemented the GK solution by contributing all parts relating to local regulations and requirements for pharmacies.

“By utilising GK OmniPOS, we were able to increase the effectiveness and timeliness of our pharmacy services,” explains Iliyan Tishevishki. “This strategy also includes working with GK to lay the groundwork for our omni-channel strategy, which will improve the customer experience and produce a seamless online and offline buying experience.”

Next levels of product expansion are on the roadmap

In order to further optimise the efficiency of its business operations, Sopharma Trading is already planning next steps with GK to implement a self-checkout process in its pharmacies. The healthcare specialist is also testing e-receipts to further improve customer service and fulfil the company’s green agenda.
