Vienna-based fiscalisation specialist Fiskaly has acquired its competitor Deutsche Fiskal from GK. Deutsche Fiskal will continue to operate in the same way under the new ownership. GK, one of the world’s leading POS software providers, had very successfully established Deutsche Fiskal in Germany as a consultancy and solution provider to meet the challenges faced by retailers in the wake of new legislation and regulations in Germany regarding fiscalisation \u2013 the audit-proof recording of receipts for the purpose of protecting against VAT fraud.<\/p>\n

Deutsche Fiskal’s customers include almost all major German retail companies, including those that do not use GK at their checkouts. Austrian company Fiskaly has also established itself as an important player in the retail sector when it comes to implementing fiscalisation requirements, not only in Austria and Germany but also in Italy and Spain. GK has now sold the German specialist Deutsche Fiskal to Fiskaly, as the GK platform is already used in around 65 countries and the company will continue to push ahead with its internationalisation. Fiskaly and Deutsche Fiskal will continue to work closely with the POS software provider as partners of GK.<\/p>\n

Both Fiskaly and Deutsche Fiskal have set out to offer retailers not only hardware-based TSE but also cloud solutions that eliminate the need for physical installation at each individual checkout. However, the various German authorities challenging the industry with fiscalisation requirements have by no means made it easy for retailers and their service providers \u2013 with complex, overly unspecific and sometimes contradictory requirements for cloud-based solutions. But, according to GK, the problems for retailers in Germany have now been resolved \u2013 not least thanks to the consistent work of Deutsche Fiskal, which has also been able to establish itself through clever lobby of the retail organisations.<\/p>\n

Hybrid solution closes the gap<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In order to cover all cases of retail in Germany, Deutsche Fiskal, together with D-Trust, a subsidiary of the Bundesdruckerei Group, was the first provider to launch a hybrid version in addition to the pure cloud solution. This makes it possible to connect registration systems where real-time signature is not possible. If required, hybrid operation is also possible within a single operating site, where signing can be carried out both from the cloud and offline. The same central management and monitoring components are used to manage all systems.<\/p>\n

Matthias Robeck, previously managing director of Deutsche Fiskal, will remain at GK in a strategic role, The Retail Optimiser<\/em> learnt, and will not be joining Fiskaly. Martin Breidenbach, previously Vice President Development and Cloud Operations at Deutsche Fiskal, is now to take over the management of the company and play a key role in its integration and further development.<\/p>\n

Cooperation with GK as partner<\/strong><\/h3>\n
