The British retailer will install a total of 285 CI-100X cash recyclers in the back offices of its larger stores. The rollout has already begun.<\/p>\n<p>With this step, the retailer expects to make cash management processes in its stores more efficient. The systems are designed to speed up processes at cash offices processing high cash volumes. They promise increased productivity and greater security for employees and are intended to reduce risks of cash shrinkage. Due to their high capacity, the recyclers can also reduce frequency of pick-ups by cash-in-transit companies.<\/p>\n<p>The cash recyclers work integrated with Flooid&#8217;s Cash Office software, which enables Waitrose to manage its entire cash flow. The solution also offers reports to monitor possible discrepancies. Glory had acquired the British POS software provider Flooid (formerly PCMS) in January 2024. <a href=\"https:\/\/retail-optimiser.de\/en\/glory-wants-to-acquire-flooids\/\"><em>The Retail Optimiser<\/em> reported.<\/a> Waitrose is using the provider&#8217;s POS software.<\/p>\n<h3>Waitrose ups technology investments<\/h3>\n<p>Automation of cash handling is part of a larger technology initiative by the retail company. Last month, Waitrose announced that it would invest 50 million British Pound in technology for its stores. This includes testing an AI-powered app that will enable employees to check inventory and answer customer questions using their mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p>The recently renovated supermarket in Newbury, west of London, is serving as a testing ground for this and other new technologies. This and six other stores will also pilot camera systems soon to help employees identify shelf gaps more quickly.<\/p>\n<h3>ESLs in roll-out<\/h3>\n<p>Over the course of the coming year, Waitrose also plans to complete its roll-out of electronic shelf labels across all stores.
