Alcampo has launched a Scan&Go feature called AutoScan in its customer app\u00a0 with Shopreme. Shoppers can use it to scan products with their own smartphones whilst shopping and, at the end, transfer their digital shopping basket via a QR code to a designated checkout.<\/p>\n

Auchan\u2019s Spanish retail arm aims to roll out the solution to all Alcampo stores in Spain by the end of 2026. To begin with, Alcampo has activated AutoScan in almost 40 stores in the Madrid region, Catalonia and Castilla-La Mancha.<\/p>\n

Customers can launch AutoScan in the retailer\u2019s app as soon as they arrive at an Alcampo store. They then activate the service via in-store signage or through geolocation. They subsequently scan each item before placing it in their trolley or basket.<\/p>\n

Shopreme transfers the shopping basket via QR code<\/h3>\n

At the end of the shopping trip, the app generates a QR code. Customers use this to transfer their shopping to a till that Alcampo has enabled for AutoScan. Store staff are on hand to help with any questions regarding the scanning and payment process.<\/p>\n

Shopreme describes this process in its product portfolio as \u2018Pay at Till\u2019: a QR code transfers all items from the digital shopping basket to a physical till or a self-checkout terminal.<\/p>\n

The provider positions its Scan&Go solution as a white-label system that retailers can integrate into their existing apps and till systems.<\/p>\n

Alcampo enhances the Club app in-store<\/h3>\n

The retailer has integrated AutoScan into the Club Alcampo app. The app already brings together the Club card, offers, points, credit balances, shopping summaries and the store locator. According to Alcampo, its app had around 3.7 million users by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

With AutoScan, Alcampo is also building on its previous experience with self-scanning. The company cites the 2005 launch of Cajamiga, which it describes as Spain\u2019s first self-scanning checkout. With Shopreme, Alcampo is now shifting the scanning process more heavily onto customers\u2019 smartphones.<\/p>\n
