Internally, the French retail group refers to the new solution as Nemo. Coop\u00e9rative U has replaced its Diebold Nixdorf software with GK. In 2005, the retail group had introduced TP Dot-Net and, when renewing the system 10 years later, opted once again for a solution from Diebold Nixdorf (then Wincor Nixdorf).<\/p>\n<p>The Hyper U hypermarket in Thoiry was the last site to complete the multi-year rollout of GK. GK supplied the software for the checkouts and the cash office. Worldline was awarded the contract for payment processing, whilst Coop\u00e9rative U simultaneously replaced some of the POS hardware.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dominique Schelcher, CEO of Coop\u00e9rative U, the new POS software is easier to use and can be adapted more readily to meet future requirements. The CEO emphasises that the new solution has led to improved working conditions for staff at the checkouts. The company has not published any reliable figures on faster processes or shorter waiting times.<\/p>\n<h3>Training for 28,000 staff<\/h3>\n<p>According to its own figures, Coop\u00e9rative U has prepared 28,000 checkout staff for the new system. To this end, the retail company organised more than 6,100 training days. More than 200 employees of the co-operative, as well as external partners, managed and implemented the project.<\/p>\n<p>According to CEO Dominique Schelcher, Coop\u00e9rative U continued to operate its stores throughout the roll-out.
