Rewe Group's discount retailer Penny is testing a hybrid self-checkout solution from Itab in a newly opened store in Offenbach an der Queich. The Vision Hybrid system, developed by Swedish shopfitting and retail technology specialist, enables the retailer to use the same space as either a manned checkout or a self-checkout area.

In its store in Bad Feilnbach, southeast of Munich, Edeka merchant Prechtl has modernised the checkout area with two Vision Hybrid systems from Swedish shopfitting and retail technology specialist Itab. With this solution, which combines traditional staffed checkouts with self-checkouts, the independent retailer aims to offer its customers a flexible and efficient checkout experience.
