Poco revamps logistics processes with Infios WMS
Poco is standardising and modernising its logistics processes with a new warehouse management system from Körber Group’s Infios. As a first step, the home furnishing discounter has put the software into operation at its central warehouse in Trebbin near Berlin. The solution is then set to be rolled out to seven further sites.
By introducing Infios Warehouse Management, Poco aims to standardise core processes within its logistics network. At the same time, work practises and automation interfaces are to be flexibly adapted to local requirements. To this end, the company is separating logistics processes from its ERP software.
Previously, the company had used the warehouse and logistics modules of its existing ERP system to manage operations in its distribution centres. As complexity of operational processes increased, these modules reached their limits. Due to the nature of the goods and their wide variety of packaging formats, furniture logistics presents specific challenges. Products often consist of individual parts distributed across different packages. The system must be able to manage, store, pick and dispatch these as units, whilst also providing transparency at component level.
Configured to fit the furniture industry’s requirements
According to Infios, the software provider has configured the solution for Poco according to the operational requirements of the furniture industry. In particular, precisely coordinating the handling of products consisting of multiple packaging units. The modular structure enables the solution to be expanded later to include functions such as slotting, the strategic allocation of storage locations, or yard management for the planning and control of vehicle movements as well as loading and unloading processes.
The company, based in Bad Nauheim, is part of Hamburg-based Körber Group. Following its repositioning in 2025, the group is independently marketing its supply chain software internationally under the brand Infios. The WMS is designed to control processes from goods entry through storage, picking and packing right through to shipping. The solution uses machine learning and artificial intelligence for analyses and recommendations for action.
Blueprint for further rollout
The logistics centre in Trebbin serves as Poco’s central warehouse for goods entry, pre-sorting and forwarding to regional distribution centres, as well as to its automated e-commerce fulfilment centre in Bönen, in the district of Unna, North Rhine-Westphalia. The company plans to commission a second site by the end of 2026, combining import and regional warehousing functions.
Poco then intends to implement Infio’s WM in rapid succession at the remaining logistics hubs. To this end, it plans to use reusable templates of industry-specific configurations to generate value quickly.
