Deutsche Post modernises POS infrastructure with Diebold Nixdorf
Deutsche Post wants to update its POS system across the board with solutions from Diebold Nixdorf. Diebold Nixdorf will supply the approximately 13,000 company-owned acceptance points and stores of DHL Group’s subsidiary with new POS terminals and install them. Deutsche Post has also signed a comprehensive service contract with Diebold Nixdorf for a period of five years, which will ensure operation, maintenance and support of the POS systems.
Diebold Nixdorf will start installing up to 500 POS terminals per week in the third quarter of 2025. The new POS systems are part of the modular Beetle series and utilise the latest generation of processors, which, according to the manufacturer, significantly reduce energy consumption.
Diebold Nixdorf will not only supply and install the new POS terminals but will also move existing systems to other locations where required, add additional components or functions and flexibly adapt the POS infrastructure to new demands – for example in the event of upgrades or configuration changes. Deutsche Post’s service contract with Diebold Nixdorf also covers warranty cases and ensures full transparency through comprehensive reporting.
Fast roll-out to ensure smooth operation
Leyla Feghhi, Diebold Nixdorf’s Senior Director Retail Sales in the DACH region is pleased with Deutsche Post’s trust: “With the fast roll-out and our innovative service, we enable high availability and ensure that Deutsche Post’s stores run reliably and securely,” she emphasises.
Back in 2007, Deutsche Post agreed on a framework contract with the technology company, which was operating under the name Wincor Nixdorf at that time. The contract included equipping up to 20,000 workstations in post offices and Postbank stores with IT infrastructure.
