Jet implements GK Drive

Jet has chosen GK as software partner for its petrol stations. The oil company will be the first European adopter of the GK Drive solution, which is already being used in the USA by retailers with associated filling stations such as Hy-Vee. The first pilot trials are scheduled to be completed by 2025, with full roll-out across Europe planned for 2026.

Jet aims to leverage GK’s flexibility and 30 years retail experience to be ready for the challenges of transformations in the petrol station sector. The Jet stations are to be transformed into comprehensive mobility hubs where the changing needs of mobile people can be reliably and effortlessly met in the future.

“With ever-increasing changes in the mobility sector, filling stations will not be a mere pit stop in the future, but rather a centre where people expect a broader range of retail services. To cater to these changing demands, we are working with GK, a proven industry expert in retail technology,” says Georg Ober, CEO of Jet Tankstellen Deutschland GmbH.

Retail experience for future mobility hubs

GK and Jet will work closely together to develop an innovative solution that is tailored to the specific aspects of the European petrol station industry, including its regulatory requirements, and offers state-of-the-art retail and user experience technology.

GK intends to use the learnings from this project to further refine its GK Drive product and build on its success in the US to create a robust European system. In recent years, GK has steadily expanded its European and global presence and is the number one European provider of new retail POS installations, according to London-based analyst group RBR.

Unified commerce for new services

“Given the transformations in mobility, urban infrastructure and culture, customers will expect filling stations to not only offer commodities, but also to transform into convenient retail sites for on-the-go supplies and services,” says GK’s CEO Michael Scheibner, under whose leadership the software provider has achieved significant growth momentum since the beginning of his tenure in June 2023: ”We are grateful for working with Jet on the forefront of rethinking the consumer experience at filling stations with the help of our industry-leading solutions for unified commerce.”
