Coop Allenza 3.0 digitalises stores with VusionGroup
Italian grocery retailer Coop Allenza 3.0 is implementing VusionGroup’s solutions across its 350-store network to increase operational efficiency, improve customer experience and support sustainability goals. The rollout includes a gradual adaptation of VusionGroup’s cloud platform, Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs) and AI-driven tools such as Captana for real-time shelf monitoring. Implementation has already begun in 40 stores, with a target completion date of the end of next year.
The Italian retailer will be able to improve in-store operations through the use of IoT and cloud technologies. Multicolour ESLs provide customers with clearer product information while reducing paper and ink waste. Store associates benefit from features such as LED indicators on ESLs, which streamline tasks such as shelf restocking and promotional updates. VusionGroup also enables Coop Allenza 3.0 to track, monitor and manage all IoT devices from anywhere, at any time.
”Our solutions will impact not only the efficiency and operations of their stores, but also the quality of work for Coop Alleanza 3.0 employees, who will be relieved from low-value-added tasks in favor of a better working environment,” says Alessio Gruffè, VP Italy and Eastern Europe at VusionGroup.
Help in preventing food waste
Captana’s real-time monitoring technology will help the retailer reduce food waste by providing insights to prevent out-of-stocks. This step will help Coop Allenza 3.0 meet its commitment to environmental sustainability.
Several international retailers are currently using VusionGroup’s solutions. Just this June, the world’s largest retailer, Walmart, has announced plans to install ESLs from VusionGroup in 2,300 of its stores by 2026, as reported by The Retail Optimiser. Walmart first took the decision last May to roll out ESL technology to 500 stores by the end of 2023, following a successful trial.
Major retailers deploy ESLs
Spar Austria has also implemented VusionGroup’s four-colour ESLs across its network. In August this year, the retail group already rolled out the solution in Spar and Interspar store in Austria as well as Aspiag stores internationally, as reported by The Retail Optimiser.
