Marius Lückemeyer will take up the newly created role of Chief Digital & Online Officer (CDOO) in mid-September. He will be responsible for the pet supplies retailer’s entire online business and is tasked with driving the company’s digital and omnichannel transformation forward.

Marius Lückemeyer comes from MediaMarktSaturn, where he worked for more than five years. There, he was initially responsible for the digital transformation as Chief Digital Officer for Germany. In early 2020, he moved to the top of the marketplace business as Vice President & CEO Marketplace and was responsible for its establishment and further development. His career began in investment banking at Merrill Lynch and IKB Deutsche Industriebank. He then moved into e-commerce and co-founded Dafiti, an online fashion retailer, which he led as managing director for almost seven years across several Latin American markets. Marius Lückemeyer studied business administration at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and as part of an MBA programme at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico.

New responsibilities for the online business

According to Fressnapf, Marius Lückemeyer brings extensive experience in retail, e-commerce and digitalisation to the role. Working alongside the teams, he is set to expand the company’s digital capabilities and further develop the cross-channel shopping experience for customers.

The appointment of the new CDOO is part of a reorganisation of the management structure. The aim is to shorten decision-making processes and speed up the implementation of the corporate strategy in international markets.

Commercial sector to be reorganised

At the same time, Fressnapf is establishing a new commercial division headed by Mikko Forsström, which will bring together the Customer and Product Offer divisions. In addition, Chief Transformation & Information Officer Patrik Silén will also take on responsibility for the Customer Strategy & Insights division.
