BIC uses Bayard’s expertise in GSDN implementation
BIC, the global French manufacturer of stationary, lighters and shavers, is using the services of Bayard to optimise its product content management. The product content specialist, part of the Markant Group, is reviewing and implementing the Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) data model in the complex European market. Bayard has already successfully supported the company’s online unit, BIC Digital, in previous projects.
BIC began the phased deployment of a new Product Data Information Management (PIM) system for its global business at the end of 2020. The company needed dedicated support for the implementation of GDSN in the European market. With their good connections to the international and national GS1 organisations, the Cologne-based consultants are particularly helpful to BIC.
BIC has been very satisfied with the support provided by Bayard in making the necessary adjustments to meet the requirements of the European retail market and GDSN: “The Bayard team is extremely well versed in the European market. The consultants are very efficient in helping us understand which of our retail customers’ requirements can be met with GDSN, and how we can best implement these using the latest technology technologically,” says Gaëlle Silasi, Manager, Global Digital Shelf Operations at BIC.
Other manufacturers rely on Bayard
Since the end of last year, branded goods manufacturer Peter Kölln has also been relying on the technology of the Cologne-based specialists. As reported by The Retail Optimiser , Peter Kölln switched to Bayard’s GDSN data pool b-synced at the end of January this year. The food manufacturer plans to use GDSN to provide retailers with product content for its roughly 500 products not only in Germany and Austria, but in all countries where the company’s products are available.
