Obi renews its e-commerce platform with Vtex

DIY store operator Obi uses Vtex technology to offer its customers a seamless omnichannel shopping experience with various delivery and collection options. Among other things, shoppers can collect their online orders within just two hours via Click & Collect. Using the composable commerce platform, Obi has been able to create strategic marketplace functions that open up the retailer’s ecosystem to third parties.

The new solution provides the DIY store operator with the basis for rapid scalability to different countries. “The development and deployment process has been significantly shortened compared to our previous monolithic solution, allowing us to launch internationally and add new functionality in a timely manner,” explains Tim Engler. In addition, Obi’s development teams can develop, test and deploy new features or functionalities independently of each other.

Carrefour Brazil uses Vtex

In 2020, the Carrefour Brasil Group also opted for the Vtex e-commerce platform. In just eight months, the retail giant completed the entire migration process to the new platform with a team of 150 employees. The entire customer purchasing process was redesigned and optimised. In addition to a personalised search based on the customer’s usual purchases or preferences, the solution also has integrated channel management, allowing shoppers to either have their orders delivered to their home or collect them from one of the stores via Click & Collect.
