Swiss market leader Migros has launched a new fulfilment centre for online orders in Regensdorf, featuring automation solutions from Knapp. The site will be able to process up to 7,500 orders per day in future. Migros Online will handle goods receipt, storage, order picking and dispatch in one location.

Germany's largest retail organisation, Edeka Group, will optimise the orders and stocks of all its stores and distribution centres with the AI-based software platform of Relex. The decision represents a Copernican shift in the Edeka Group's IT strategy. Until now, the German retail giant has managed its inventory management systems exclusively with SAP and SAP partner solutions.

Together with Relex, Migros Online has intelligently decoupled the delivery of its distribution centres from customer orders in terms of time and product range in order to smooth out peaks in staff deployment. This was reported by the partners this week at the German-language ECR conference.
