Migros brings in Luis Lamshöft for AI and robotics
Luis Lamshöft has joined Migros Supermarkt AG as Head of AI & Robotics Strategy. In 2024, the Migros Group consolidated key functions for all grocery stores across all its cooperatives within Migros Supermarkt AG. In his new role, Luis Lamshöft will also focus specifically on the automation of the Swiss market leader’s distribution centres.
In addition, Luis Lamshöft is leading strategic projects relating to store deliveries and replenishment. Migros aims to use this to improve the flow of goods from the distribution centres to stores across Switzerland. Luis Lamshöft announced his move on LinkedIn, where he stated that he had taken up his new role last week.
Luis Lamshöft brings retail and strategic experience to the role
Before joining Migros Supermarkt, Luis Lamshöft worked at Majid Al Futtaim, the Carrefour franchisee for twelve countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. As Manager of Commercial Strategy and Strategic Projects, he was part of the retail group’s Carrefour Centre of Excellence. According to his own account, his work there focused on strategy, transformation and retail.
Prior to that, Luis Lamshöft completed a strategy placement at Accenture. Whilst studying for his Bachelor’s degree at the MCI Management Centre Innsbruck, he also undertook a professional placement at Deichmann. A semester abroad took him to Murdoch University in Dubai.
Master’s thesis explores generative AI
From 2022 to 2024, Luis Lamshöft studied at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut, USA. His Master’s thesis at the Steinbeis School of International Business and Entrepreneurship examined how generative artificial intelligence can transform strategic work in international companies.
According to Luis Lamshöft, he interviewed experts in strategy and artificial intelligence as well as senior executives for his thesis. The focus was on potential applications in market analysis, the development and implementation of strategies, and their monitoring.
