El Jamón rolls out ESLs from Hanshow

El Jamón, a retail company operating in Andalusia, has selected Hanshow to supply nearly three million electronic shelf labels (ESLs). The food retailer plans to introduce the electronic labels across all its stores within three years.

In the first phase of the project, 100 stores – representing just over a quarter of the retailer’s total of more than 370 locations in southern Spain – are to be fitted with ESLs before the end of this year. El Jamón aims to complete the roll-out to all its stores within three years.

The planned introduction of electronic labels covers a retail network that El Jamón has recently expanded through acquisitions. The takeover of Grupo Piedra added 69 stores, meaning that the retailer now operates 75 stores in the province of Córdoba. In July this year, El Jamón also acquired Supermercados Dani, with 19 locations.

Eroski relies on solutions from Vusion

Unlike El Jamón, the Eroski retail group – which also operates in Spain – is relying on technology from Vusion for its ESL roll-out. The co-operatively organised retailer is primarily active in the north of the country. As early as June 2025, Eroski had already expanded its existing partnership with the French technology provider. The Retail Optimiser reported.

Whilst El Jamón intends to equip its entire store network with ESLs, Eroski is focusing its project on its hypermarkets and larger superstores. There, the retailer uses not only electronic labels but also Vusion’s cloud platform.

Fútbol Factory chooses ESLs from Zkong

Fútbol Factory, a Spanish specialist sports retailer, has also recently introduced ESLs. The retailer has opted for technology from the Chinese supplier Zkong. Aeme innovación tecnológica Group was responsible for the implementation, working alongside the project, which Zkong unveiled in March this year.
