Partner Tech Europe and Anker acquire rights to Trautwein bottle return systems

Partner Tech Europe and Anker Group have jointly acquired the rights to the Bottlecomp systems from insolvent Trautwein SB Technik. This is intended to safeguard operations and future viability of the product platform and protect investments made by retail customers.

The companies are taking over all rights to the systems, including underlying technologies and patents. Employees of Trautwein SB Technik and the production facility are not part of the agreement. Trautwein, together with its production subsidiary Loetec Elektronische Fertigungssysteme, filed for insolvency in March this year. Proceedings were opened at the beginning of May.

As a first step, Partner Tech Europe is offering existing customers a service and maintenance package. Denis Christesen, CEO of Partner Tech Europe, explains: “We want to reassure existing customers quickly. With our service plan, we make sure that all installed Bottlecomp systems operate reliably and are professionally maintained.”

The companies are planning for the long term

Partner Tech Europe and Anker Group are already working on the future and, together with Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH (DPG), are pushing ahead with the recertification of the installed system infrastructure for the period from 2027 onwards. Therefore, Anker is undergoing the necessary approval and certification processes as a manufacturer of bottle return systems. In doing so, it is meeting the regulatory requirements to operate, maintain and further develop the existing infrastructure long term.

The companies see growing opportunities in the reverse vending system business. New regulatory requirements, as well as the introduction and expansion of deposit systems in many countries, are boosting demand. At the same time, the market is consolidating. According to the new owners’ vision, the Bottlecomp product platform is set to play a key role in the European system landscape in future.

Anker is taking over day-to-day operations

Once the existing machines have been stabilised, Anker plans to strategically develop the technology further and, in the long term, offer new systems based on the existing platform. “The Bottlecomp platform has a strong technological foundation and an excellent reputation in the retail sector,” explains Anker CEO Hendrik Ohse, promising to continue developing the technology in the long term should there be sufficient customer interest.

Anker, headquartered in Bielefeld, offers POS systems, POS hardware and infrastructure components for the retail sector. Partner Tech Europe – part of the global Quisda Group – acquired a minority of the company in June 2025. In this partnership, the new shareholder is primarily contributing its expertise in marketing and sales.
