Aldi Süd is piloting automatic recognition of fruit and vegetables at its self-checkouts. Diebold Nixdorf's AI-based Vynamic Smart Vision software analyses the camera image of goods placed on the scanner scale to identify items without a barcode. Aldi Süd's checkout software partner Gebit managed the integration into the existing system.

Decathlon is supporting the development of new products and the portfolio management of its product ranges with the platform solutions from Centric Software, the Californian specialist for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The sporting goods retailer wants to use the PLM solution to develop, source and sell its own-brand products more effectively.
