Metro is introducing self-scanning with customers' smartphones in its wholesale stores. Software from start-up Nomitri uses visual AI and the camera of the smartphone to detect potential fraud and generate personalised offers.

Following its Cash&Carry-competitor Metro, Coop Switzerland’s Selgros is also testing the innovative checkout solution from Supersmart. The first installation of two lanes is currently ramped up in the Selgros store in Bukarest, Romania

With immediate effect, both retail companies and their technology partners can submit applications for Reta Europe 2021.
