TeeGschwendner introduces self-checkouts with Snabble and Pyramid

Specialist tea retailer TeeGschwendner is implementing Snabble’s self-checkout solution on Pyramid hardware in its stores. In 2021, two franchisees were the first to successfully equip their stores in Nuremberg and Kassel with the solution. Four more stores in Frankfurt, Mühlheim, Hamburg and Bremen will follow this year. Thanks to the central connection to the Snabble Cloud, all of the tea retailer’s stores, including those operated by franchisees, can offer their customers various checkout options. Thanks to the solution, shoppers can now choose between Scan & Go, checkout at an SCO or a combination of the two. The technology enables TeeGschwendner to adapt to the needs of its customers. With fewer checkout processes, staff save time and can focus more on customer service. “We are proud to offer our customers a modern and efficient shopping experience. The positive response in our stores that have already been converted confirms our efforts to continuously invest in advanced solutions,” says Birgit Rohn, Managing Director of TeeGschwendner.

New app with Shopgate

TeeGeschwender is also investing in its online distribution channel. Last year, the tea retailer developed a new app together with the software provider Shopgate. Since its launch in 2023, the app has been downloaded more than 14,500 times. According to TeeGschwendner, app customers make around 15 per cent more sales than before. The tea retailer chose Shopgate as its software-as-a-service provider to keep the app up to date with the latest technology and to add new features on a regular basis. The software provider gives TeeGschwendner the ability to customise the app through configuration and development of individual features.
