Lidl brings AI-supported item recognition from Mettler Toledo to its stores

Lidl is equipping its fruit and vegetable departments with camera-based, AI-supported scales from Mettler Toledo that automatically recognise loose items. With this step, Schwarz Group's discount retail division is promoting a seamless self-scanning journey for its customers in the fresh produce department. Lidl has already equipped around 250 stores across Germany with two scales per store in most case.

Albert speeds up checkout with AI-powered item recognition from Mettler Toledo

Albert, the Czech banner operation of Ahold Delhaize, has implemented Mettler Toledo's AI-powered solution FreshAI at all its attended checkouts. The company is also testing the technology at self-checkout terminals in five pilot stores.
