Carrefour adds GS1 QR codes to over 50 private labels

French retailer Carrefour is implementing QR codes based on the GS1 Digital Link standard in private-label ranges. To date, 50 own-brand products packages already feature the new-generation QR codes, across categories as varied as baby food, wine, organic or regional culinary specialities. The number of products is expected to continue to grow over the coming months.

dm and Beiersdorf pilot GS1 Digital Link

Drugstore operator dm is testing the processing of two-dimensional codes at the checkout in selected stores. The pilot project is set to provide important insights for the planned gradual replacement of barcodes with 2D codes using the new GS1 Digital Link standard. Beiersdorf's 8X4 brand deodorants are among the first products to be labelled according to the new identification standard.

C&A increases inventory accuracy with Checkpoint RFID

Clothing retailer C&A has improved inventory accuracy from 70 to 95 percent and increased sales by more than 5 per cent by introducing Checkpoint Systems' RFID solution in all European stores and distribution centres.
