Too Good To Go

Aldi Nord is testing the Too Good To Go app in 30 of its stores to sell off fresh produce left over at the end of the day. The measure is set to complement other initiatives against food waste by the discounter.

Codè Crai Ovest has started to deploy an app called `Last minute sotto casa' by start-up LMSC to minimise food waste. The Italian cooperative uses it to inform shoppers on items to be bought at lower prices shortly before they reach their expiry date.

Edeka's Netto Marken-Discount was able to secure two prizes at EHI's Reta Awards 2022, the winners of which were announced today. The teams around Netto CIO Claus Leitl won firstly with their Pick&Go branch in Munich's Schwabing district. They won a second prize together with Tiliter for the automatic recognition of products without barcodes such as fruit and vegetables.

Netto Stavenhagen is expanding its cooperation with the Too Good To Go network Germany-wide. From 3 May 2021, consumers will be able to buy grocery bags of leftover food at a special price via the Too Good To Go app in all Salling Group’s discount stores in Germany.

The Netherlands-based franchise organisation of the national Spar retailer organisations has reached an agreement with UK platform operator Gander that will enable its members to market food products via the app shortly before they reach their best-before date. The project aims to help curb food waste.
